National Women’s History Month

March is national women’s history month.

This month we commemorate all the women responsible for the advancement of society, and especially technology.

For example, Margaret Hamilton, a computer scientist from the MIT software engineering division, in 1969 she wrote the Apollo 11’s code that sent humans to the moon. This code was a key contribution to the Apollo 11’s success. Margaret Hamilton was credited with popularizing the concept of software engineering and pioneered the way to modern software. In a modern light, Mira Murati, a graduate from Dartmouth University and the CTO of Open A.I., is responsible for the creation and development of the ever-expanding AI called ChatGPT. The AI was released In November 2022 and its purpose is to answer questions, writes codes, papers, letters, and gives human like answers to any question that the AI answers. Margaret Hamilton and Mira Murati were only two examples of women that pushed the advancement of technology, yet without them, the world of software and IT would be nowhere close to where it is now. This month, commemorate women that changed the world for the better.
