Below are some examples of how August eTech can customize technology to fulfill your business needs.
Data and Exchange Server Disaster Recovery Hosting.
Large size Company
A client contacted August eTech stating they had lost power and could no longer access their data or email! The power was out for several days. Was this Super Storm Sandy? No. Just an ordinary day. A car accident caused major problems for the electric company and a very large business area lost all power. August eTech setup a duplicate server off-site at August eTech headquarters that syncs with the clients current server. Now if there is a power outage all employees can access their data and email through the hosted DR server.
Old server with 12 virtual servers needs replacing (VMWare to Hyper V).
August eTech was hired to upgrade an old server with 12 virtual VMWare (Windows 2003 and 2008 OS) servers to a new server with Microsoft 2012 Hyper V. August eTech took on the challenge and not only moved over all 12 servers, it moved over and upgraded the on-site Exchange Server on one of those virtual servers. This was only done with only 4 hours of down time. How? Just ask August eTech.
Multi-site connection through a single technology. VPN Tunnel Access.
Large size Organization.
A client required four organization locations, located over several states, be connected as one via a single technology. All locations needed to share printers, servers, files, database applications, email, and other internal software. August eTech devised a strategy, setup an open VPN network using the sites current Internet bandwidth and added new VPN firewalls with high security. August eTech utilized current servers to act as the exchange for the whole network, as the database application server, print server and file server. Servers located at each site did not require removal. The entire organization is able to comprehensively use each server as if they were on site. Using this strategy the costs of setting up a WAN network were greatly reduced.
Telecommuting capability without direct connection to the server. Remote Access Software. (RAS)
Asked by a CFO, and current client, if there was any way that some employees could work on their accounting software without them having full access to the server and just that application, August eTech had an immediate, effortless solution at hand. Implementation of a terminal server option on a secondary server that the client already had took place. By using the terminal server service and using the remote app manager, “duplication” of the office feel for this particular accounting application was achieved.
Employees received a link where they could effortlessly download the thin client install app. Once the thin client was installed it included an icon that looked just like the accounting application icon while working on-site. When the employee clicked the icon it prompted for network credentials and then opened up ONLY that application just as though they were in the office. This was done so the employees were not confused about what they were logging into and there was an ease of transition from work office to home.
System Assessment – Security Issues – Anti-Virus.
Having gotten a call from an organization of 250 users that was referred to August eTech by a current client; August eTech was asked to do a system assessment, which they were happy to do as they offer a free consult with all sales calls. The system assessment is a quick, overall look at all equipment, software and settings (if an organization allows a look into their servers and firewalls) and setup. August eTech quickly noted miss-managed AV deployment, lack of routine maintenance for both desktops and server, wasted monies for equipment that was not needed and never used, backups not working, additional security issues and server drives maxing out.
The organization immediately hired August eTech. A project plan was instantly put together with a priority listing of issues that need to be resolved. Within one week all issues were tackled and within a month a stable network existed and continued work on clean up was continued.
Needing part-time IT help?
An organization with a small IT team wanted to hire August eTech for part-time service work. They needed a tech that could be on-site 20 hours a week and work to setup and deploy approximately 100 new computers. August eTech sent an on-site, A+ Desktop Certified tech that went so above and beyond the initial strategy to deploy the computers, the client was subsequently overjoyed with the partnership. The work was such a benefit to company productivity that August eTech was retained for the PT work.
